Scientists came to such conclusions after studying the life of unicellular microbes in the hot springs of Yellowstone National Park.
Aliens from other planets, if they exist, may resemble a paste by their consistency.
This statement was made by scientists at the University of Illinois ( USA ).
Researchers have long observed the life of microbes in the Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park. Report on the work done published in the journal Live Science.
It was possible to find out that unicellular organisms form bacterial mats consisting of filamentous fibers, each of which has trillions of linked cells.
The analysis suggested that 98% of the studied microorganisms belong to the species Sulfurihydrogenibium yellow stones, which evolved about 2.5 billion years ago when there was still no oxygen on Earth.
It is for this reason that researchers have suggested that the microbes found are similar to any other life existing in the Universe.
